A Simple System for Organizing Terminal Tackle

Small tackle is easier to use when every compartment answers one question: what job does this part do?

Group by function first

Separate hooks, sinkers, swivels, snaps, rings, and ready-tied rigs. Function is usually easier to scan than a mixed box sorted only by color.

Label the purchase-driving detail

Record hook size, sinker weight, line rating, or interface where relevant. Keep uncertain or unmatched parts apart until they are identified.

Use a working box and a reserve box

Carry the quantities needed for the trip and keep bulk replacements at home. This makes it easier to see what needs restocking without carrying every spare part.

Check after each trip

Dry wet items, remove damaged parts, and restore each compartment before storage. Follow the care instructions provided with each product.
